Wüschheim

Wüschheim is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It lies in the Hunsrück and belongs to the municipality simmering / Hunsrück on.

Geography

The place Wüschheim is centrally located approximately three miles from the Hunsrückhöhenstraße, which runs on the road between Kappel and Bell on Blümlingshof of the Hunsrückhöhenstraße eastward through the so-called Biebertal about Biebern after simmering in the Hunsrück.

Adjacent communities include Bell (Hunsrück ), Hasselbach, Alterkuelz, Michel Bach, Reich, Reckershausen and Kappel.

History

A Roman cremation grave, which was discovered in 2004 by the Association archeology club Arrata and reported to the state archeology, evidence of an early settlement in the Roman era.

By the end of the 18th century Wüschheim belonged to the upper office simmering in Palatine Principality simmering.

With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops, the place was French, 1798-1814 it belonged to the canton of simmering, who was assigned to the Rhine-Moselle department. At the Congress of Vienna (1815 ), the region was granted the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration Wüschheim under stood from 1816 to the mayoralty Ohlweiler simmering in a circle and was from 1822 until the end of World War II to the Rhine province. The former bull stable has been converted to half in a youth room and the equipment room of the volunteer fire department Wüschheim. The Wüschheimer community house was completely renovated in the 1980s and significantly expanded with a banquet hall, together with kitchen and cold storage rooms.

About 100 meters west from the outskirts is a barbecue hut. The area around the barbecue hut offers play area, a paved basketball court, a football field and about 50 parking areas.

In the summer of 2006 the former beet Laundry ( Rummlewäsch ) was born on Bieberbach (100 m north from the barbecue hut ) converted into a Kneipp pool.

The Biebertaler circular route linking the towns of Biebertales ( Wüschheim, Rich, beavers, Fronhofen, Nannhausen ) for a total length of 26.5 km.

On the Pydna, the former missile base close to Wüschheim and Hasselbach, has been held since 1996, the Nature One held a multi-day festival of electronic music with about 50,000 visitors annually.

Around Wüschheim

A traveling art installation is created in the Wüschheimer district towards Hunsrückhöhenstraße, a former ammunition depot of the U.S. armed forces since the late 1990s. This is, inter alia, used to driving safety courses of the circle Verkehrswacht Rhein -Hunsrück and as a test track of various automobile manufacturers and automotive suppliers.

On the edge of Goßberges on the boundary of Hundsheim an airfield for microlight aircraft has been created.
