WWE Unified Divas Championship

The WWE Divas Championship ( WWE Championship to German Divas ) is a women's wrestling title WWE. The title was introduced by the WWE as an alternative title for the WWE Women's Championship Wrestling show of Raw in 2008. On 19 September 2010, the title was in the pay -per-view Night of Champions with the other women's wrestling title, the WWE Women's Championship, united. As in Wrestling common practice the allocated according to a predetermined storyline.

History

Because the SmackDown roster had no title for their own Wrestling WWE Divas, introduced the WWE the WWE Divas Championship. The then SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced in the SmackDown June 6, 2008 the creation of the new wrestling title. On the same evening the title belt was officially unveiled. Michelle McCool and Natalya earned victories against other WWE Divas participation in the title match at the Great American Bash. Michelle McCool defeated Natalya eventually to become the first title holder. Maryse won the title from McCool in December 2008 and a week later slipped her kneecap at a house show. Nevertheless, Maryse has held the title until their return in January 2009. As part of the WWE Draft 2009 Maryse was changed to Raw and the title was henceforth only available for divas of the Raw roster. In the edition of Raw on 30 August it was announced that the Divas Championship and the Women's Championship in a match at Night of Champions between Michelle McCool and Melina are combined. This allows the title (briefly renamed WWE Unified Divas Championship ) in both wrestling shows of the WWE (Raw and Smackdown ) to be defended today and the title holder can occur in both shows.

Current title holder

The current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee is in her first reign. She defeated Kaitlyn bem WWE PPV Payback on June 16, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois.
