WxBasic

WxBasic is an open source implementation of a BASIC interpreter by David Cuny. The programs thus generated to run on Windows and Linux.

WxBasic is written in C with a C layer to be added to tie the wxWidgets GUI library. wxBasic uses a bytecode, such as Perl, Java or VB.net. For delivery in addition to the program text only passing a runtime exe file is needed, which is less than 1MB.

The interpreter is no longer developed since 2006. Instead, the project in the follow-up project sdlBasic has worked.
