Wyandotte County, Kansas
The Wyandotte County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Kansas City.
The Wyandotte County is part of the metropolitan Kansas City and consists largely of the Kansas City, Kansas.
Geography
The County is located in northeast Kansas, bounded on the north and northeast Missouri, where the limit by the Missouri River is formed and has an area of 403 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered by the following counties:
History
The Wyandotte County in 1855 as an original county from parts of Kansas - formed territory and is one of the first 33 counties that were formed by the first territorial administration. It was named after the Native American people of the Wyandot (te).
Demographic data
According to the census in 2010 lived in Wyandotte County 157 505 people in 58 640 households. The population density was 401.8 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The racial the population was composed of 54.6 percent white, 25.2 percent African American, 0.8 percent Native American, 2.5 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 3.7 percent were descended from two or more races.
