Wybutosine (Y, yw ) is a rare and nucleoside is present in the tRNA. It consists of the β -D - ribofuranose (sugar ) and a highly modified guanosine. It is a tricyclic nucleoside with a large side chain. It can be found as well as the Wyosin next to the anticodon at position 37 of most eukaryotic and archaeal phenylalanine tRNAs. It was first isolated in 1968.
