The Wylde Swan is a Dutch two-masted topsail schooner that was built in 1920 as a steam trawler built in 2010 and sailing ship.

History

The ship was built in 1920 as a trawler at the Howaldtswerken in Kiel. It was designed so that it could collect as part of the German fleet herring fish caught at sea and then create the fastest way to land in order to achieve the best price for the goods. For this reason the ship was designed long and narrow.

Join the ship was set up by the deep-sea fishing off the Shetland Islands AG under the name Bromberg in Rüstringen. In 1921 it was sold to C. Andersen from Kiel and renamed Ursula. 1938 was preserved by Walter Michaelis from Riga from the scrapyard and instead converted to a cargo ship. The ship transported from now on charges under the name Hariet.

The German Navy seized the ship in 1941 and moved it to Gdynia. After the war the ship was delivered to Norway and served under various owners until the late 1990s as a freighter and sand truck. 1999 bought the Dutchman Chris Woestenburg Midlum from the ship and transferred it to the Netherlands. After numerous owner changes Willem Sligting decided in 2001 that the ship would be suitable as a fast sailing ship due to its properties and bought the Wylde Swan to have to rebuild it.

The ship was a two masted topsail schooner called into service and registered as a Sail Training Ship in June 2010. It has since become the largest topsail schooner in the world.
