Wynn Roberts (biathlete)

Wynn Roberts ( born March 1, 1988 in Battle Lake ) is an American biathlete.

Wynn Roberts is the oldest of three siblings and lives in his native town of Battle Lake. At the age of nine, he began with the cross-country skiing, with 12 he began also with the sport of biathlon. He starts for the Mt Itasca Winter Sports Center and Minnesota State University. In 2006, he took in Presque Isle for the first time participated in the Junior World Championships. Roberts showed places 41 in singles, 14 in the sprint and 15 in the Pursuit competition and was with Mark Johnson and Russell Currier 12 and thus last in the relay race. First race in the Junior European Cup, later the IBU Cup, followed in 2007. During the same year he was and at the Junior World Cup in Martell 45th in the sprint, 39th in individual, pursue and again 12th in the season with Leif Nordgren Justin Tyner. For the third time he started in 2008 in Ruhpolding at a Junior World Championships and ran to the courts 62 in singles, 23 in sprint, 38th of persecution and with Johnson, Currier and Nordgren ninth in the relay race. At the Junior Championship of the same year in Nové Město na Moravě he reached the ranks 20 in singles, 27 in the sprint and 23 in the pursuit. His fourth and final World Cup denied Roberts in 2009 in Canmore. In individual he reached rank 31 in the sprint he was 15th and 30th in the pursuit race. In the North American Championships in Biathlon, 2009 in Valcartier, he won the singles title, he finished second in the sprint behind Nordgren, with whom he won the title in mixed doubles together with Grace Boutot.

Roberts starts since 2008 in the capacity range. He played his first significant international race in 2008 as part of the IBU Cup in Obertilliach. In 2009 he was at the pre-Olympic test World Cup in Vancouver his Biathlon World Cup debut, reaching number 89 in the singles. At the U.S. Championships in roller ski biathlon, 2009 Jericho saw him win Lowell Bailey silver in the sprint competition, in the pursuit race he fell back to eleventh place. For the 2009/10 season Roberts was appointed to the A ( A3) National Executive of the United States, but had early in the season his place for the stronger at the time Kevin Patzoldt rooms. But before the Winter Olympics Roberts regained his place and participate as a fifth starter for the United States alongside the established Jeremy Teela, Jay Hakkinen, Jeremy Teela and Bailey in the Games. He was inducted in the singles and there was 93 Highest in the World Cup so far is a 77th place at one single in Antholz. Finally, he participated in the Biathlon European Championships 2010 in Otepaeae and arrived there the ranks 45 in singles, 51 in the sprint, 49 in the pursuit and Zach Hall, Casey Simons and Nordgren 12 in the relay race. In biathlon NorAm Cup 2009/2010 he reached in the first season podium finishes. In the overall standings Roberts was seventh. In the North American Championships in biathlon in 2010 and the concurrent U.S. Championships in Fort Kent, he won the title in the pursuit race. In the sprint, and the North American championship of the mass starts, he finished in sixth in the ranking of the U.S. championship in fifth place.
