Wynoochee Dam

The Wynoochee Lake is a small reservoir at the top Wynoochee River in Grays Harbor County, Washington state. It has an area of 4.54 km ² and a usable storage volume of about 86 million cubic meters.

The Wynoochee Dam was completed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in September 1972. It is used primarily for flood protection and water supply of industrial enterprises in Aberdeen. In addition, the location in the Olympic National Forest Lake is a recreation area with campgrounds and hiking trails along its shores. 1994 built Tacoma Power, part of the public utility company Tacoma Public Utilities, a power plant that produces 30 million kWh of electricity per year.
