Wyoming is an American city in Wyoming County in the U.S. state of New York. It has 513 inhabitants ( 2000 census ) in an area of 1.7 km ². The city lies at an altitude of 302 m. ü. M.

History

Wyoming was founded in 1916. It was one of the first places was promoted to the natural gas. Since there was never a major industrial promotion of the gas, the natural gas field, the street lighting of the city is used to supply gas today. The Downtown of Wyoming is also called " Gaslight Village".
