Wyśmierzyce

Wyśmierzyce is a town in Poland, in the Masovian Voivodeship. With 890 inhabitants Wyśmierzyce is the smallest city in the country.

History

1338 Wyśmierzyce received its town charter. During the Third Partition of Poland in 1795, the town was part of Austria. 1809, the city fell to the newly formed Duchy of Warsaw and went in 1815 with the creation of Congress Poland at this over. 1870 Wyśmierzyce lost its city charter. In 1922 the town was granted city rights again. In an administrative reform in 1975 Wyśmierzyce part of the newly formed Province of Radom and with a renewed reform from 1999 part of the Masovian Voivodeship.
