Xavier Bettel

Xavier begging ( born March 3, 1973 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourgian politician Demokratesch party and since January 2013 the chairman of the party. Since December 4, 2013, he is Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Begging studied law and was for a long time been a lawyer. In 1999 he moved as a deputy in the Chamber of Députés. From 2011 to 2013, was begging mayor of the city of Luxembourg.

Life

Xavier begging studied public law, churches, sea and European Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Nancy in France and at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. Until his election as Mayor of Luxembourg, he worked alongside the political career as a lawyer.

Already early interest in Xavier begging for politics and so he joined in 1988, at the age of 15 years, the Demokratesch Party ( DP) in. From 1994 to 2002 he was chairman of the Luxembourg Liberal Youth ( JDL ). 1999 Xavier begging was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg. With his then only 26, he was the youngest Member of Parliament. In the same year he was also elected to the City Council of the Luxembourg capital.

In the national elections of 2004 and 2009, he was confirmed in his office. At the community level in 2005 he was alderman of the city of Luxembourg. In the elections of October 9, 2011 Xavier begging was the most elected politicians of his party. He ousted the incumbent mayor Paul Helminger. On November 24, Xavier begging was sworn in as the new mayor of the city of Luxembourg.

In the national elections in 2013 Bettels DP reached 13 seats. He refused to become a junior partner of a guided by long-time Prime Minister Jean -Claude Juncker government. It agreed instead with the Social Democrats and the Greens in coalition negotiations. On October 25, 2013 Grand Duke Henri him responsible for forming a new government.
