Xcelerator

Xcelerator is a steel roller coaster ( Launched Coaster ) in the U.S. amusement park Knott 's Berry Farm in Buena Park ( near Los Angeles ). The railway was opened on 22 June 2002. Was constructed Xcelerator by Intamin.

Ride

Xcelerator accelerates the trains with a hydraulic system acceleration from 0 to 132 km / h in 2.3 seconds. At the end of the acceleration section, the railway runs perpendicular to a maximum height of 62.5 m, where she drives said element on the tip of the top hat.

Kingda Ka and association with Top Thrill Dragster

Xcelerator was one of the first Accelerator Coaster with a tophat. She was the model for Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster. Accident

On September 17 2009 crack during firing of a train, the steel rope of the catapult. A 12 year old boy and his father were injured in the accident by debris. The roller coaster remained closed until the end of January 2010.
