Xenia Desni

Xenia Desni, kyril. Ксения Десни, ( born January 19, 1897 in Kiev, Russian Empire, † 27 June 1962, Roquefort- les-Pins, France) was a silent film actress.

Life

The Russian-born, whose artistic talent was encouraged early on by her parents fled during the Russian Revolution, first to Constantinople Opel, where she worked as a vaudeville dancer and from there to Berlin. Began here - mainly with films directed by John Good - their successful, albeit brief film career, which ended with the advent of the talkies.

Little is known about the further life of the former silent movie star. She was the mother of 1913 in Berlin-born actress Tamara Desni and mother of Canadian actor Raymond Lovell (1900 - 1953). In the years 1924 to 1926 she settled in Heringsdorf a " summer residence" build until the house passed she lived several years with her daughter in the possession of the great industrialists Gerdes.
