Xia Xuanze

Xia Xuanze (Chinese夏煊泽, Pinyin Xia Xuanze; born January 5, 1979 in Zhejiang) is a Chinese badminton player.

Career

Xia Xuanze participated in Sydney at the Olympic Summer Games 2000. In the first round of the singles tournament, he received a bye. In the second round he beat the Japanese Keita Masuda. Xia Xuanze defeated in the Round of 16 Svetoslav Stoyanov and in the quarterfinals originating from Malaysia Wong Choong Hann. Only in the semi-finals he suffered a defeat against Hendrawan with 12:15 and 4:15. In the match for third place, he met the Dane Peter Gade. Xia Xuanze won the game with 15:13 and 15:5, and thus won the bronze medal.

2003 Xia Xuanze won the individual tournament staged in Birmingham World Cup. He also won the 2006 Thomas Cup with the Chinese team.
