Xiahou Ba

Xiahou Ba (Chinese夏侯霸) was a commander of the Chinese Wei Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period. He came from the leading general Xiahou family, but fled during the political instability of the city of Luoyang to the Shu Han.

Xiahou Bas father was the great Wei general Xiahou Yuan, his mother was a half-sister of Cao Cao. Along with his four brothers took over Xiahou Ba after his father's death in the Battle of Mount Dingjun (219 ) a portion of his troops.

In the year 220 was Xiahou Yuan's eldest son Xiahou Heng a piece of land so that Xiahou Ba as a younger son inherited his father's title and earned his livelihood from the taxpayers of 800 households. In the 240 years he was regency Right General and Marquis of Bochangting while Cao Shuang. He was regarded as Cao Shuang's henchman. After Sima Yi's coup in 249 Xiahou Bas nephew Xiahou Xuan was killed, and Xiahou Ba fled to Shu, where he was admitted as a cousin of the wife of the Shu- General Zhang Fei kind of Liu Shan. This in turn had married a daughter of Zhang Fei and his son called nephew of Xiahou family. Xiahou Ba was appointed general of the charioteer and the cavalry.

Xiahou Bas sons, who had remained in the Wei Empire, were not killed because of the merits of her grandfather, but merely relegated to the Lelang Province in North Korea today.
