Xiang Jingyu

Xiang Jingyu向 警 予(* 1895, † 1928) originates from Hunan and was one of the first women in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and close friend of Mao Zedong during his years in Changsha.

She studied in France and has been actively supporting women's rights and for socialism. In 1921 she came back from France, became the successor of Wang Huiwu and became the first chairman of the newly created Women's Offices of the CCP. She was active mainly for the organization of factory workers in the spinning and weaving industry centers. Planned on 30 May 1925 and led them to demonstrate in Shanghai, which asked the one hand, the release of detained students, on the other hand against the events in Qingdao said a few days earlier. The police opened fire on the demonstrators, so that the events of May 30th 1925 as the " massacre of May 30, 1925 " (五卅 参 按wusa can'an ) went down in history. In 1925, she was sent for training to Moscow, which in practice meant their political corner. Her successor was Yang Zhihua杨 之 华.

Her husband Cai Hesen was a member of the Central Committee of the CCP党中央since 1922. She was also the mother of two children ( birth years: 1922 and 1924 ).
