Xiang River

Called The Xiangjiang or Xiang River (湘江), also Xiang Shui (湘水), is the largest river in China's Hunan Province and the largest tributary of Lake Dongting Hu, who is also traversed by the water great southern river arms of the Yangtze River. It has a length of 856 kilometers, its catchment area is 96,400 square kilometers. As the largest cities lie along its course Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan, as well as Xiangtan, Zhuzhou and Hengyang.
