Xiangzhong Yang

Xiangzhong Yang (also called " Jerry" Yang, born in 1959 in China as杨 向 中, Yáng Xiangzhong; † February 5, 2009 in Boston ) was an American stem cell researcher.

Yang grew up in China and was able to continue due to his outstanding performance at the University of Peking his studies in the United States. Initially he worked on Klonversuchen at Cornell University in New York, since 1996 at the University of Connecticut.

In 1999 he succeeded to clone the first calf in the USA. He was regarded as a leading stem cell researchers in the United States. 2009 Yang succumbed to a four-year battle with cancer. His controversial studies on human embryos, he could not continue due to illness.
