Xiaowei Zhuang

Xiaowei Zhuang (Chinese庄小威/庄小威, Pinyin Zhuang Xiǎowēi ) (born 1972 ) is an American biophysicist Chinese origin.

Zhuang graduated in 1987 at the Gifted Young College (少年 班) from the University of Science and Technology of China ( USTC ) in the Suzhou High School. She received the B. S. of Physics at USTC and the Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley. From 1997 to 2001 she was Chodorow Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University.

Zhuang is a researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Physics at Harvard University. She is the director of a research team to develop techniques for high-resolution microscopy to observe the entry mechanism of viruses in cells.
