Xilleon

AMD Xilleon is a family of media processors, which was originally developed by ATI Technologies (ATI ), and renamed after the acquisition of ATI by AMD (formerly ATI Xilleon ). The Xilleon processors SoCs with a 32-bit MIPS architecture for use in set-top boxes and IDTV. The different processors offer primarily hardware-accelerated MPEG2 decoding and 3D functions.

The Unified Video Decoder ( UVD ) is based on the technique of Xilleon processors. The Xilleon division was acquired by Broadcom on August 25, 2008.
