Xingu National Park

The Xingu Park ( Parque Indígena do Xingu [ ˌ paɾki ‿ ĩ ˌ d͡ʒiʒɛnɐ you ʃĩɡu ] ) is a 27,000 km ² reserve for indigenous peoples in Mato Grosso in the Amazon region of Brazil.

The park was a model for many other such facilities. Orlando Villas Boas and his brothers Cláudio Villas Boas and Leonardo Villas Boas were activists for the protection of indigenous peoples. In 1961 she achieved the establishment of the Xingu National Park and the Legal Protection of the Xingu Indians.
