Xonrupt-Longemer
La Bresse is a commune in the Vosges department in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Saint- Dié -des-Vosges, Gerardmer to Canton and the Local Government Association, founded in 2003 Lacs et Hauts Rupts.

Geography
The 1558 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) scoring municipality La Bresse is located at about 720 meters above sea level in the Vosges Mountains, just east of the town of Gerardmer. The municipality comprises the valley of the upper Vologne including their source and the carrying out of their mountain lakes Longemer and Lac de Retournemer. The Longemer is 76 hectares after the Lac de Gerardmer is the second largest natural lake in the Vosges and is used in summer for bathing. The corrie lake Lac de Retournemer is five acres in size and emerged as the other two lakes in the Würm. The area of the municipality is outside the settlement zones almost completely forested ( Forêt de Longemer, Forêt de Retournemer ) and ranges in the east to the Vosges ridge, which forms the border along the Alsace region. The crest of the Vosges forest here is free, it reached 1306 meters above sea level near the Hohneck the greatest height in the community.
Neighboring communities of La Bresse are Gerbépal in the north, Ban -sur- Meurthe- Clefcy and Le Valtin in the northeast, Stosswihr to the east, La Bresse Gerardmer in the south and the west.
History
The municipality was created on 22 October 1919 separation from the area of the city Gerardmer.

Economy and infrastructure
Main industry is tourism with numerous hotels and pensions. In the summer of Longemer is an attraction for the tourists in the winter the ski areas on and around the Vosges ridge.
Transport links
Through the village La Bresse performs the important national road from Colmar on the Col de la gorge to Epinal. From this road ( D417 ) branches in La Bresse from the D8 over the Col de Martimpré to Saint -Dié -des- Vosges. Also the Vosges ridge road route of Crètes runs through the territory of the municipality.
