Xu Xiake

Xu Xiake (Chinese徐霞客, Pinyin Xu Xiake, * 1586, † 1641) was a Chinese geographer and writer.

Xu traveled from 1608 until his death thirteen Chinese provinces and collected maps and documents. He explored the respective local geology and geography, local habits and the plant world. He took time during the trip great exertions, and died early.

His findings are summarized Xu in the 20 - volume work, travel descriptions of Xu Xiake ( "徐霞客 游记"; Xu Xiake You Ji ) together, which was very important for the history.
