Xuanhanosaurus (meaning " lizard of Xuanhano " ) is a genus theropod dinosaur that lived during the Middle Jurassic. It was first described by the Chinese paleontologist Dong Zhiming in 1984. The only known species is Xuanhanosaurus qilixiaensis.

Xuanhanosaurus was about six feet long and weighed about 250 kilograms. A conspicuous feature of this predator is that he had a particularly long and strong arms. This fact suggested Dong that he could have perhaps moved quadrupedal. However, today most scholars believe that he was also bipedal more like all other theropods.

Its fossils were found in the Dashanpu dinosaur discovery site within the Xiashaximiao formation in the Chinese province of Sichuan in about 168-163 Millionen -year-old rock.

With regard to the systematics associated Dong Xuanhanosaurus the Megalosauridae family. Newer Views of 2004 assume that it counts directly to Tetanurae, such as Hotz, Molnar and Currie.
