Xunta de Galicia

Xunta de Galicia is the Galician name of the government of the Spanish autonomous region of Galicia. The Xunta de Galicia is under the Galician Statute of Autonomy of 28 April 1981 from the President (Prime Minister), if necessary, a Vice President and the ministers ( Conselleiros ). These two items are appointed and dismissed by the President.

President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijoo since April 2009 by the Galician People's Party ( PPdeG ), a regional division of the Spanish Popular Party (PP ). Núñez Feijoo followed Emilio Pérez Touriño of the Galician Socialists ( Partido Socialista de Galicia, PSdeG ), the regional division of the Spanish Socialist Party ( PSOE) in Galicia, according to who held the political leadership of the Autonomous Region in the period from 2005 to 2009.
