Y (Somme)

Y [ i] is a town with 89 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the French region of Picardy in the Somme department. The inhabitants call themselves " Ypsiloniens ". Y has the shortest name of all municipalities of France. The village's name is based on the village streets that form a Y.

Geography

The municipality is located two kilometers east of the Y Somme and about 20 kilometers west of Saint- Quentin.

History

Y was during the First World War in the combat zone and for this reason it came time to destruction, including Church of Saint- Médard, which was built during the 1920s again.
