Yachtcharter

As an Yacht Charter refers to the lending of sailing or motor yachts for a certain period. The ship's owner rented his yacht for a charter fee to be paid in the rule before the trip. It is concluded a charter agreement, governs the obligations of the charter company and the charterer.

Charter types

Crewed charter

In the " crewed " the crew is hired by the charterer in addition to the charter yacht also. The staff consists of a skipper which controls the yacht and ( depending on the needs of the charterer ) of other personnel such as cooks or hostesses. Since the skipper is responsible for the yacht, the Charterer shall not be liable itself generally for any damages.

Cabin charter

Rents the charterer not the whole yacht, but only a single berth for a fee, this is referred to a berth charter. The charterer is then indeed involved in the trip planning, the legal liability but taking into account the skipper who rented the bunk and organized the trip. In the special case of berth charter " hand - to - bunk " it is common that the fellow travelers no rent paid for the passenger ride, but in return takes a job performance in the form of tax due on the boat tasks. However, an involvement of the passengers on the board cash is still common.

Bareboat charter

If the charterer a complete yacht rented, but sacrifice the booking of additional personnel on board, this is referred to as a " bareboat charter ". The charterer controls the chartered yacht while his own responsibility and shall also be liable in accordance with the completed charter contract for any damage itself
