Yadé Kara

Yadé Kara (* 1965 in Çayırlı / Eastern Turkey ) is a German -language novelist.

Life

Yade Kara grew up in the Old West Berlin. After her graduation she studied English and German literature and was incidentally at Berlin's Schiller Theater operates. At times, she also worked in London, Istanbul and Hong Kong, among other things, as an actress, teacher and journalist. She has published articles in radio and television.

Her first novel Selam Berlin (2003 ) was awarded the 2004 German Book Prize. She also was awarded the 2004 Adelbert von Chamisso Prize. A follow-up work was published in 2008 with Cafe Cyprus.
