History

1590 Jadrin was first mentioned as a fortified settlement and administrative center. 1781 Jadrin became a town and was applied simultaneously to the administrative seat of the homonymous Ujesd ( since 1927 Rajon ).

On this occasion Jadrin received its own coat of arms. In the upper part of the split plate showed the arms of the governorship, afterwards the governorate Kazan, one of the Jadrin to 1927: in silver a black, pretty turned- Silant ( a dragon-like Tatar mythical creatures ) with red wings and a golden crown. The contents of the lower half of the shield - red black cannon balls, which are piled up to form a tetrahedron - is based on an interpretation of the volksetymologischen city name that you wanted to derive from Russian Jadro ( " Cannonball "). In fact, the name probably comes from the Chuvash name Jetĕrne, which was first, then converted to the Russian Jadryn to Jadrin. In the new version of the coat of arms was replaced in 1989 the Kazan Silant by a silver and gold ornamental pattern on a red background, borrowed from the Chuvash folk art and in its center encloses the founding date of the city.
