Yahoo! Query Language

Yahoo! Query Language ( YQL ) is a SQL-like query language that was created by Yahoo as part of its developer network. YQL is designed to retrieve data from APIs through a simple web interface and manipulate, which makes mashups through which developers can develop their own applications.

The program was launched in October 2008 with access to Yahoo APIs, in February 2009 Open Data Tables third party such as Google Reader, the Guardian was, and The New York Times added. Some of these APIs still require an API key for access. On April 29, 2009 Yahoo introduced the ability to run free consultation by YQL using JavaScript on the corporate servers.
