Yakitori

Yakitori (Japanese焼き鳥, literally grilled chicken ) is the Japanese version of grilled fish, meat and vegetable skewers.

Traditional yakitori consists exclusively of chicken parts and vegetables, but in modern usage also includes any other kind of meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian barbecue food to that being skewered and grilled on skewers ( kushi ). Yakitori is usually served with a spicy sauce or salt form their basic ingredients mirin, soy sauce and sugar. The sauce is applied to the skewered meat that is grilled until it is tender. The meat is then served with the sauce as a dip.
