Yakubu Alfa

Yakubu Alfa (born 31 December 1990 Minna ) is a Nigerian football player at the position of midfielder and striker. He currently plays for Germinal Beerschot in the Jupiler Pro League, the top division in Belgian football.

Career

Youth and club career

Alfa began his active career as a football player in 1995 in the young field of Niger Tornadoes. After several years in the youth of the society he came from 2007 to regular appearances for the first team with gaming operations in the Nigerian Premier League, the highest football league in the country. There, Alfa was from 2007 to 2008 in 30 league games in action, scoring eight goals for his team.

Beginning of 2009, Alfa signed a professional contract with Swedish club Helsingborgs IF tradition, with its professional team he reached the eighth place after the 2009 a place exactly in the middle of the table. His league debut was for the club from the southern Swedish Helsingborg on 26 July 2009, when he was a substitute in a 2-0 home victory over the Gefle IF in 83 minutes for the midfielder Erik Sundin. In the next round, he came to another short-term use.

After only one season and two league operations with just under 40 minutes of playing time left Alfa Sweden. New Club of the Nigerian was the Belgian first division side Germinal Beerschot.

Internationally

Alfa already gathered with the Nigerian U-17 National Team and U-20 team experiences. For the U- 17 team in his home country, he completed 18 international matches and came up with twelve times to score. He also represented the team during the U -17 World Cup 2007 in South Korea. He was in six games in action and scored two goals. At the end of the competition the team U- 17 World Cup after it was last defeated the U-17 national team of Spain in the final on penalties.

Among other things, Alfa since 2008 integral part of the Nigerian U-20 National Team, for the eight games he scored three goals to date, and even took part in the U- 20 World Cup Egypt 2009. There he came in the opening group match to a 55 - minute appearance before he was replaced by Ibok Edet. At the end of the group stage Nigeria reached a meager third place and qualified as one of the four best third-placed team for the knockout stages of the competition. There, the team retired after a 2:3 defeat against the German U-20 juniors.
