The Yakutsk Airport (Russian Аэропорт Якутск ) is the international airport of Yakutsk in Russia. It lies north of the city center on 99 meters. He serves as a hub for Yakutia Airlines, among others. The airport has two start and runways, one of which is closed, which also has no instrument landing system. Flight operations will take place 24 hours a day. It was opened in 1931 and during the Second World War stopover for American combat aircraft, which were on their way to Europe.

Incidents

  • On 4 February 2010 the left engine of an Antonov An-24 failed during startup. During the startup crash, the aircraft struck the fuselage on the ground. The plane was originally supposed to fly to Oljokminsk. Was injured in this incident no one.
