Yale Daily News

The Yale Daily News ( YDN or even Yale News called ) is the oldest student newspaper in the United States. It has been published since January 28, 1878 and is used by students at Yale University in New Haven ( Connecticut ) published. It reports on the university and the city of New Haven.

Publication

The newspaper is published during the academic year every day from Monday to Friday; Mondays with a detailed sports supplement, Fridays with its own location scene on the topics of life and art. These are the Yale Daily News Publishing Company, the Yale Daily News Magazine and publishing special editions before the last home game of the football season and the first home game of the Ivy League in basketball. Other print products of the publisher, the journal The Politic and the study guides Yale Daily News Insiders Guide.

Editing

Editors and reporters are mostly students in the 1st or 2nd year of study. Some of the associates were Joseph Lieberman, William F. Buckley, Jr., Potter Stewart, Strobe Talbott, Henry Luce and Briton Hadden.

Distribution

Until 1994, the Yale Daily News had a subscription newspaper, which was served for $ 40 per year by mail. Since then, the newspaper is distributed free of charge.
