Yalın

Yalın ( born March 30, 1980 in Istanbul, Hüseyin actually Yalın ) is a Turkish pop musician and songwriter. He had his breakthrough with the song Zalim.

Early life

Yalın wrote his first songs during his school days. Later he studied economics. At this time he recorded his first demo CD.

His passion for music goes back to his childhood, when he saw his father play the Gipsy Kings with the guitar. Since then Yalıns grew interest in music.

Career

After one and a half years, was released in 2004 his debut album Ellerine Sağlık. The song Zalim quickly became one of the big hits in Turkey. Within the first week his album was sold 200,000 times. By the end of the first month it reached a sales figure of 300,000 copies. After four months it was sold 500,000 times and became one of the biggest selling albums of 2004 in Turkey.

With his second album Bir Bakmışsın Yalın surpassed the musical achievements of his first album. Although he held the sound of his music similar to Ellerine Sağlık, she received positive comments from critics.

In 2006, a collaboration with the American reggae artist Shaggy and Japanese singer AI appeared on her album What 's goin 'on AI.
