Yaman Okay

Yaman Okay (* 1951 in Giresun, Turkey, † February 19, 1993 in İstanbul ) was a Turkish theater, film and television actor.

He worked with the best Turkish film directors, such as Yılmaz Güney, together. In Germany, he achieved fame through his portrayal of Dursun in the multi-award winning film 40 sqm Germany ( 1986) by Tevfik Baser. Previously, he had been seen already in the Turkish film at the Berlinale successful Pehlivan (1984). After 40 sqm Okay Germany was to be seen in other German productions in Vatanyolu (1988 ) and the crime drama A Case for Two (1986). Participation in the German didactic series Korkmazlar (1988 ) for Turkish immigrants in Germany. A supporting role in the Okay awarded the Oscar winning film Journey of Hope in 1990.

Okay died in 1993 from cancer. He was married to actress Meral Okay.
