Yamasa

The Yamasa Corporation (Japaneseヤマサ 醤油 株式会社, Yamasa Shoyu kabushiki - gaisha ) is a Japanese condiment and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The company was founded in 1645 in Chiba, under the name Yamasa and converted into a Kabushiki - gaisha 1928. It is known primarily for the production of soy sauce. It is headed Michio Hamaguchi, a direct descendant of the founder Gihei Hamaguchi.

The company has in addition to its production plants in Japan with an office in Salem, Oregon and operated from there to the North American market. It is a sales income of 48.8 billion yen (approx. € 290 million) earned in 2007.
