The Rivière Yamaska ​​is a right tributary of the St. Lawrence River in the south of the Canadian province of Quebec.

The 154 km long river drains an area of 4843 km ². Its name comes from the language of the Abenaki. It can be translated as " where the rushes grow " and refers to the march at the mouth.

The source of the river is located in Lac Brome, a lake in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The Yamaska ​​initially flows westward. Shortly after Farnham he describes a striking 90 -degree bend and then flows north through the flat plain of the St. Lawrence Valley. Near the village of Ville Pierre River eventually flows into the Lac Saint- Pierre, which forms part of the current.
