The Yamato Un'yu K. K. (Japaneseヤマト運輸.株式会社, Yamato Un'yu Kabushiki - gaisha, Eng. Yamato Transport Co., Ltd.) is Japan's largest courier company.

Business

2010 Yamato had a market share of 41%. The company has a corporate capital of 50 billion yen and has 142 209 employees (15 March 2013). President Masaki Yamauchi (as of December 2013).

The company is located in Ginza (Tokyo). The parent company of Yamato Holdings has several subsidiaries, including in the U.S., South Korea, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan and Singapore. The Yamato Transport Europe B.V. Headquartered in the Netherlands.

History

Yamato Un'yu K. K. ( to 1982大 和 运输 株式会社) was founded in November 1919. At that time, the company had four trucks. 1923 a regular delivery service between Tokyo and Yokohama was established. In May 1949, Yamato Un'yu went to the Tokyo Stock Exchange. 1950, began to work with air freight. For international parcel was obtained in 1955 a license. Logo
