Yampil, Vinnytsia Oblast

Jampil (Ukrainian Ямпіль; Russian Ямполь / Jampol, Polish Jampol ) is a town in Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Rajons Jampil, located in the southern part of the oblast Vinnytsia at the Dniester in the historical landscape Podolia. The Dniester River runs south of the village, on the opposite side of the river from Moldova with the place Cosauti.

From 1923 to 1999, there was a narrow gauge railway line from one station east of town after Wapnjarka, this was discontinued and the tracks in 2000 largely dismantled.
