Yan Hui (disciple of Confucius)

Yan Hui (* 521 BC Cai, † 490 BC) was the favorite disciple of Confucius.

Life

In addition to about 3,000 supporters Confucius had 72 to 75 disciples of which he felt himself understood.

The employment history of the consultants in Qufu has gaps. In these times of austerity Confucius traveled with Yan Hui Chen and Cai by the States, as they encountered an abandoned rice bag. Yan Hui cooked the rice and Confucius observed with sharpened by hunger eyes as Yan Hui ate the half-cooked rice. When Yan Hui offered the finished cooked rice Confucius said this, he had dreamed of his father and is now a part of the rice sacrifice. What he Yan Hui said that the rice contaminated by dust and therefore is unsuitable as a victim.
