Yane Sandanski

Jane Ivanov Sandanski ( Jane Ivanov Sandanski also Yane Ivanov Sandanski or written, Bulgarian Яне Сандански; born May 18, 1872 in Wlachi, today in Bulgaria, † April 22, 1915 in Melnik, Bulgaria) was a revolutionary and is considered a leading figure in the BMARK ( Bulgarian Macedonian - Adrian Opeler Revolutionary committees / Български Македоно - Одрински революционни комитети, a forerunner of the IMRO ). In his honor, the Bulgarian town of Sveti Wratsch was renamed in Sandanski.

He supported the Young Turks and was after those Revolution (1908 ) Member of the Ottoman Volksföderative Party ( Bulgarian section ). Under his leadership, the town of Melnik was conquered during the First Balkan War, on 17 October 1912. In order for the centuries of Ottoman rule ended over the city. His grave is now located near the florets monastery in Melnik.
