Yang Feng

Yang Feng (Chinese杨奉) was a cavalry officer in the Later Han Dynasty. He fought from 184 together with Xu Huang against the Yellow Turbans and later served the warlord Dong Zhuo to his campaigns in the Liang province and was assigned to General Li Jue.

Dong Zhuo controlled from 189 the imperial court. He deposed the young emperor Liu Bian and stood in his place the young Liu Xie as Emperor Xian. Soon, a coalition of generals of the whole kingdom was formed against him. Dong Zhuo moved into a strategically located city of Chang'an, the capital had been under the Former Han Dynasty. The previous capital Luoyang he had burnt down.

After the overthrow Dong Zhuo (192 ) Li Jue and Guo his confidants Si took over the control of the emperor. Together with Dong Cheng Feng Yang supported the emperor in his flight from the capital Chang'an in 196, the Emperor was invited with his followers from the warlord Cao Cao in his headquarters in Xuchang. There, Yang Feng came with Cao Cao together and went to Yuan Shu, who declared himself the next year by virtue of the Imperial seal to the emperor. Yang Feng's fate is uncertain; Yuan Shu died only two years later the attacks of his rivals Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Lü Bu.
