Yang Talat District

Amphoe Yang Talat ( Thai: อำเภอ ยางตลาด ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are starting clockwise from the north-west: the Amphoe Huai Mek, Nong Kung Si, Kalasin and Mueang Khong Chai in the province of Kalasin, and Amphoe Chiang Yuen Kantharawichai and Maha Sarakham Province.

History

Originally called the area Pachim Kalasin ( ป จิ ม กาฬสินธุ์ ), 1913, the name in Phu Len Chang ( ภู แล่น ช้าง ) was changed. In 1917 the name was changed again, this time in today's Yang Talat.

Management

Amphoe Yang Talat in 15 communes ( tambon) divided which in turn consist of 207 villages ( Muban ).

There are six small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Yang Talat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ยางตลาด ) consists of parts of the tambon Yang Talat
• Dok Si ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก ศรี ) consists of parts of tambon Doc Sombun and around Mao,
• Bua Ban ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บัว บาน ) consists of the whole Tambon Bua Ban,
• Khao Phra Non ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขา พระ นอน ) consists of the whole tambon Khao Phra Non,
• Itu is ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อิ ตื้อ ) from the whole tambon İTÜ,
• Hua Na Kham ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หัว นา คำ ) consists of the whole tambon Hua Na Kham.

In addition, there are eleven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
