Yaqub Qureishi

Haji Yakub Qureshi (Hindi: हाजी याकूब कुरैशी, Haji Yakub Kuraiśī ) is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Cabinet in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Activities

Became internationally known Qureshi when he was a bounty of nearly 10 million euros for the beheading of the Danish cartoonist of Muhammad cartoons in the newspaper exposed Jyllands-Posten on 17 February 2006 as Minister of the Muslim minority following the Islamic Friday prayers in Meerut. The Minister justified his behavior on the grounds that it was lawful to kill someone who had insulted the Prophet Muhammad. There was a concerted decision to suspend the million bounty. The rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ) demanded his arrest and detachment.

2007 Quereshi was chosen for the party founded by his brother Yussuf United Democratic Front in the state legislature of the state of Uttar Pradesh, which later merged with the Bahujan Samaj Party. In September 2011, a native of Meerut Landtag Querishi of his party, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP ), was suspended because he spoke disparagingly of Sikhs, as their battle house was inaugurated in Meerut.

When he was not drawn up by BSP for elections in 2012, he joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal party.
