Yarmolyntsi

Jarmolynzi (Ukrainian Ярмолинці; Russian Ярмолинцы / Jarmolinzy, Polish Jarmolińce ) is an urban-type settlement in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast in Ukraine. The place is located 30 km south of Oblasthauptstadt Khmelnytsky.

The settlement council community include not only the actual settlement nor the village Shevchenka ( Шевченка ).

History

Jarmolynzi was mentioned in writing in 1407 for the first time and received already in 1456 the Magdeburg Law. The place was until 1793 as part of the Polish-Lithuanian Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the province of Podolia, after which he came to the Russian Empire and then from 1918 to the Ukrainian SSR respectively from 1993 to present-day Ukraine.

In 1923, the city became the capital of the eponymous Rajons, 1958, the status of an urban-type settlement he was awarded.
