Yarmouk University
The Yarmuk University (Arabic: جامعة اليرموك Jami ʿ at al - Yarmuk, DMG Ǧāmi ʿ at al - Yarmuk, English Yarmouk University ( YU ) ) is a state university in the northern part of Irbid in Jordan.
History
The university was founded in 1976 by a decree of King Hussein I and is now one of the most prestigious universities in the country and the region. In the academic year 2003/2004 it had 16 889 students.
