Yaroslava Shvedova

Yaroslava Shvedova Wjatscheslawowna (Russian Ярослава Вячеславовна Шведова, Yaroslava Shvedova English transcription; born September 12, 1987 in Moscow, USSR ) is a tennis player who first played for Russia and competes for Kazakhstan since 2008.

Personal

Shvedova began at the age of six years with the tennis playing, taught her the father. Her mother Nursija Bagmanowa was a successful ultramarathon runner in the 1990s.

Career

2007

In February 2007, Shvedova reached with a win over the set number two local player Sania Mirza with 6:72, 6:4, 6:4 unexpectedly the final of the Bangalore Open. There, she defeated the number one seeded defending champion Mara Santangelo 6-4, 6-4. It was her first title on the WTA Tour, after the tournament victory was at number 78 and the first time out in the top 100.

At the Miami Masters, she came through qualifying into the main draw and was there in the second round with Ana Ivanović beat for the first time a top 20 player ( 7-5, 6-4 ). In round three she succumbed Tathiana Garbin 6-4, 3:6, 2:6.

2008

In August she won the ITF tournament in Monterrey by a final victory over Magdalena Tybarikova with 6:4, 6:1. After surviving qualifying she lost in the first round of the 2008 U.S. Open against Agnieszka Radwańska with 4:6 and 2:6.

2009

About the qualification she made it with wins over Shenay Perry ( 6-4, 6-4 ), Angela Haynes ( 6-1, 6-2 ) and Elena Baltacha ( 6:2, 6:2 ) and into the main draw of the French Open. There, she defeated Kaia Kanepi in the first and the qualifier Arantxa Rus in the second round. In the third round match she defeated Maria Sharapova then 6:1, 3:6 and 4:6. At Wimbledon, she made Monica Niculescu from in the first round with 6:1 and 6:0. In the second round she defeated Melanie Oudin 6-3, 2:6 and 4:6.

2010

At the French Open in Paris, she reached with the Austrian Julian Knowle the final of the mixed competition, which went narrowly lost 6-4, 6:75 [ 9:11 ]. At Wimbledon, she could celebrate in the doubles competition with winning the title on the side of Vania King her biggest success to date. Together with her, she won the title in 2010 also doubles event of the U.S. Open.

2011

After her semi-final foray into Paris Shvedova reached their highest ever position in the double World Ranking with Rank 4. End of July, followed by the side of Sania Mirza in the first housed in the tour schedule tournament in U.S. college park their fourth doubles title. At Wimbledon Shvedova managed in their third round match against Sara Errani ( 6:0, 6:4 ) the feat to play a Golden Set, ie the record with 24 points to win in a row. On October 29, she scored a personal high with space 25 in the WTA singles ranking.

2013

In 2013, Shvedova was especially successful in doubles. It get her three Turneirsiege in Florianopolis, Tashkent and Taipei.
