Yauyos - Quechua ( Quechua: Yawyu Runashimi ) is a collective term for the varieties of Quechua II a ( Yunkay ), which in linguistic enclaves in the province of Yauyos the Peruvian departments Lima and some adjacent municipalities of the province Chincha in the department of Ica and the province Castrovirreyna the department Huancavelica are spoken.

The Quechua in Yauyos is highly threatened in its existence and is only spoken by very few children. As the only municipality has VINAC ( Wiñaq ) still has a high percentage of active Quechua speakers. The number of speakers is given by SIL International, 6500.

The Quechua dialects of Yauyos have the old Quechua sound inventory largely preserved, including the retroflex ch [ ĉ ]. In the grammar they combine features of Quechua I ( Waywash ) and Quechua II ( Wampuy ). The differences between the various local dialects are so large that it is difficult to speak of a single variety.

Alfredo Torero lists the following varieties ( listed by SIL): Huacarpana, Apuri, Madean - VINAC, Azángaro - Huangáscar - Chocos, Cacra - Hongos, Tana Lincha, Tomás - Ali, Huancaya - Vitis and Laraos.

In contradiction to this is Rodolfo Cerrón Palomino in his Lingüística Quechua Quechua of Huangáscar and Topara to the side, the Wanka ( Waywash branch Wankay ), as well as the dialects of Tomás - Ali and Huancaya - Vitis, which he with the Quechua of Cajatambo (North -Lima ), West Pasco and North Junín summarizing in the subgroup Yaru.
