Yawovi Agboyibo

Yawovi Agboyibo ( born December 31, 1943) was from September 2006 to December 2007 Prime Minister of Togo. Agboyibo is chairman of the party Comité d' Action pour la renouveau ( CAR).

Agboyibo was born in Kouvé in the prefecture of Yoto. After his schooling Agboyibo studied and became a lawyer. In this capacity he was engaged, among others, for human rights. From 1985 to 1991 he was represented as a deputy in the Parliament of Togo as an independent candidate. In 1992, he joined the party CAR. On 16 September 2006, he was after the general election as Prime Minister in Togo. In the parliamentary elections of October 2007 Agboyibo won while again a seat as a deputy in the Parliament. The elections but brought no majority for his government and he resigned on 13 November 2007. On 3 December 2007 Komlan Mally was appointed as the new Prime Minister.
